Celebrating the 70th anniversary of Lorna Cooke DeVaron's arrival at NEC as choral director in 1947, tonight's program features NEC premieres. In addition to this 70-year span of new works sung by NEC choruses, the Chamber Singers will formally premiere the NEC 150th celebratory choral cycle, “Assembled Memories" - a work featuring 5 octavos written by NEC student composers, with texts by New England poets. Composers: Bosba, Isaac Blumfield, Andrew Haig, Charles Tarver, Derek Weagle.
